We collect information you provide directly when you create an account or use MsgFan, including your email address, display name, and username. When you send or receive paid messages, we collect the content of those messages. Payment information such as card details is collected and processed directly by Stripe — we do not store your full card number or CVV. We may also collect basic usage data such as pages visited and features used to help improve the platform.
We use the information we collect to create and manage your account, process payments and issue refunds, deliver messages between fans and creators, send transactional emails such as message notifications and refund confirmations, and improve the MsgFan platform. We do not use your personal information for advertising or sell it to third parties.
All payments on MsgFan are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. When you enter payment details, that information is transmitted directly to Stripe and is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy. MsgFan does not store your credit card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment credentials on our servers. We receive only a tokenised reference to your payment method from Stripe.
Messages sent between fans and creators are stored securely in our database to enable delivery and to support our 48-hour reply guarantee and automatic refund system. Creators receive the full content of messages they are paid to receive. MsgFan staff do not read message content except where required to investigate a reported violation of our Terms & Conditions or applicable law.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share data only with the following service providers who are essential to operating MsgFan: Stripe for payment processing, and Supabase for secure database storage and authentication. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only to provide services to MsgFan.
MsgFan uses only essential cookies required for the platform to function, such as authentication session cookies. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from logging in or using certain features of the platform.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (for example, for financial record-keeping purposes). Message content may be retained for a limited period after account deletion to resolve any outstanding disputes or refund requests.
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of any inaccurate data, and request deletion of your account and associated personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@msgfan.com. We will respond to all requests within 30 days. If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may also have rights under GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
MsgFan is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately terminate their account and delete any associated data.
